I studied a lot re Rome and its history, and found the HBO miniseries generally to be a VERY well done production on the history of the republic during its fall. There of course is some fictional take to it, but I found the series to be far more realistic than much of the one-sided accounts typical with history written in order to contrast people and happenings into glorious/infamous relief. All the better that it was co-produced by BBC in Rome with abundant Italian expertise...

A must see in my opinion for those interested in history.
